About

Hi, I'm Suzanne, a papercraft designer from the East Sussex coast of England. I design easy to use SVG cut files and printables for memorable papercraft projects.

I was first introduced to the fabulously addictive world of papercraft when I was about 6 years old! At school, my teacher handed me a sheet of lined paper, nothing fancy, just a page from an exercise book, and she told me that I was going to turn it into a box! (I thought, What? How?) Then as I followed her simple instructions, I witnessed a thing a beauty emerging right in front of me and I was soon left holding something truly magical ... my first 3D make!

With my passion for papercraft well and truly ignited, I continued to experiment and learn as much as I could about different paper folding techniques, and when I was 21, I graduated with a BA (Hons) in 3D Packaging Design.

Whilst continuing to develop my crafting knowledge and skills, I found that a lot of papercraft projects that I wanted to try had far too many pieces and often had instructions that were too confusing or difficult to follow. I’m a visual learner and, being dyslexic, I need to have things broken down into simple, easy to follow steps using clear pictures and uncomplicated language, so I knew this was something that I wanted to work on.

When I first started designing my own favour box templates they were all printable PDF files. I then bought my Cricut Explore digital cutting machine and started to convert my templates into SVG files. What a game changer! Everything could now be resized exactly how I wanted it without losing quality and so much cutting time was saved! I am still committed, however, to providing a PDF version of my SVG templates (where possible) to make my papercraft projects more accessible.

In June 2020, my work was recognised by Theo Paphitis when I became a #SBS winner on Twitter and in the same week I was crowned Queen of Favour Boxes by the fabulous Aqua Design Group!

My aim, as a designer, is to provide you with a starting point to build upon so that you can make your own impressive papercraft creations in your own unique style, no matter what level of skill you have. So, if you want to create beautiful, unique gift packaging, that’s both memorable and versatile, you’ll find that all of my papercraft projects come with simple, easy to follow instructions, clear photographs and a video assembly tutorial.

Oh, and in case you're wondering where the name Esselle came from, it's quite simply the first two initials of my name - S L

If you have any questions or comments about any of my projects, then I would love to hear from you.

Suzanne
