The templates to make these two checked shirt boxes are available as PDFs in my Etsy shop. There is also a black and white PDF template available (outline only) which will allow you to create a shirt box using any coloured or patterned cardstock of your choice.
You have the option of adding one or two pockets to your shirt box, and to complete the look, you can add a regular tie or a bow tie.
To make some shirts boxes of your own, you will need:
* Computer and printer to print the PDF templates and instructions
* Plain white cardstock or white photo paper (matte 220-250gsm recommended)
* Patterned or coloured cardstock for the ties (160-220gsm recommended)
* Craft knife / scissors
* Scoring tool
* Ruler
* Craft glue / PVA
* Sparkly gems or other small embellishments for the buttons
* Fineliner pens if you prefer to draw the buttons on.
Watch my video tutorial showing how to assemble the boxes:
Down the front of this red shirt, I added eight small gold embellishments to look like gold buttons, and I added one to the back of each cuff.
If you don't want to add embellishments, you can simply draw the buttons on using a pen in a matching colour.
These little shirt boxes are designed to hold a gift card, (as well as a few sweet treats), making them ideal for Father's Day, birthdays, retirement gifts or wedding favours!
